Watch the thinker
Reviving the recent or distant
past;
rehearsing or imagining possible
future situations.
Virtually everyone hears a voice,
or several voices,
in their head - all the time.
Continuous monologues
or dialogues.
The voice comments, speculates, judges,
compares, complains, likes and dislikes.
You see and judge the present
through the eyes of the past.
Those old gramophone Records -
(The not so old CDs and Digital Streams) -
that have been playing in your head
perhaps for many years.
This soundtrack (is) accompanied
by visual images or mental movies.
The voice - a person’s own worst enemy -
drains them of vital energy.
A distorted view - misery, unhappiness,
disease.
Watch the thinker, free yourself
from your mind.
Start listening to the voice - often -
as the witnessing presence.
Listen impartially. Do not judge or condemn
what you hear.
One day
catch yourself smiling at the voice in your head -
as you would smile at the antics of a child.
You no longer take the content of your mind
all that seriously.
You feel a certain stillness
and peace inside you.
I 'FOUND' this piece in Eckhart Tolle's 'The Power of Now'
Dream intentionally - while you're awake
