Making art is what we do
Everyday I meet people who
have so much to give.
We trade our genius and artistry
for apparent stability.
You have brilliance in you, your
contribution is valuable, and the art you create
is precious. Art isn’t only painting.
All these interactions
are art. Interactions, gifts, connections. Humans
who do art.
Artists see the world
more clearly - a sense of what actually is.
That sight allows them to see the future
over the cloudy horizon.
And sometimes our art isn’t enough, but we persist,
because making art is
what we do.
These risks, the gifts,
the humanity coming together, is
both wonderful and ironic.
The result feeds us, enriches us, and
gives us the stability we’ve been seeking
for so long.
