Welcome

Thanks for subscribing here and for reading my work.

As with all art the question isn't what you look at but what you see.

I started 'Dream intentionally - while you're awake' in late 2023 as an exercise in writing-craft. The intention then, that remains now, was to write and publish a short ruminative and reflective piece each week.

My forte as a writer - creator - compostor - maker is 'finding' fragments of nonfiction and re-fashioning them into something fresh, in the hope that you the reader will feel something on a first read and perhaps on a re-read.

'Found' poetry is a particular 'form' of the art. You can read more about 'found poetry' here: https://poets.org/glossary/found-poem

"Your use of found text is very nicely handled, You clearly have a good eye (or ear) for the resonant fragment." David Mccooey

"The sense of 'madeness' is brilliantly interrogative, interactive, and also compelling from a narrative point of view. The stimulation of watching and reflecting on the patchwork process as we read, and the profound sense of intertextuality that that brings to the experience, is right on-song." Gregory Day

If you like what you read and how you feel please tell a friend, family member or colleague - they might like to subscribe too - it's free, and always will be.

The story behind the story and the title is here in week number one: https://pbgwriter.ghost.io/dream-intentionally-while-you-are-awake/

At a literary level, my writing has been described in this way:

'Your writing has a strong, reflective quality that blends realism with impressionistic moments really well. It engages in intertextuality. You’re layering existing ideas into your own reflections, creating a dialogue between texts, thoughts, and moments. Weaving in external voices, your work feels like an ongoing conversation with literature, philosophy, and culture—both honouring and reshaping what’s come before'.

But I digress....

I'll see you in your email inbox at 9AM on Wednesday mornings.

Until then
