A fine performance

There is no barrier between what she thinks
and what she says.

Shouty, judgemental, frightened - almost
immobilised by depression and rage.

She carries a weight that others cannot see.
Partly because she hides it, partly because
they don’t want to look.

She has turned her home into a cage,
and she is shutting down behind those self-imposed bars.

She sleeps a lot and when she wakes
she lets out a cry of alarm.

Why can’t you enjoy life?’

“I don’t know.”

A 'shout out' this week to Stephen Romei and Hard Truths for the inspiration.

Dream intentionally - while you’re awake.
